Blog Buddies : Advertisement Project Feedback

Today my blog buddy will be Magda. You can check out her blog at firstdreamcamera.blogspot.com. I will be talking about her camera advertisement in this post.

Firstly, her initial ideas and development is quite clear. She analyzed both adverts in a very concise way, detailing about the camera details that are trying to be emphasized, how photography is at the time of the advert, and what a good advertisement should be. I do believe that she can explain what she liked about both adverts better. That being said, her research does have a strong likeness to her own advert, including the subject, which is a camera, how she emphasizes the camera's strong points, and is fitting to her statement on what a good advertisement should be.

Moving on the contact sheets and creation process, she did a great job on explaining her process from her thoughts and inspirations on her sketches, the creation of her logo in Pixlr, to her process of creating the contact sheets. In her final advert creation, she has also described the tools she used to create her advert. Furthermore, the final advert shows me that the final outcome is fitting to her passion for photography, with symbols of heart seen in her advert, and the caption "Take the picture from the heart will be look much better."

I believe that there are some improvements that can be made about her advert. For example, slight misspellings on the slogan, and the use of colors in the advert. Although she stated that the bright and intense pink is used to catch the audience attention, I believe that it doesn't fit really well with the red, and could be changed to a more subtle yet catchy color or by changing the heart color to a different one. That said, I really liked her advert!

Website Creation: Gallery Page

In this post, I will talk about the process of creating my Gallery page for my website. Because the layout of the gallery page already exists, I don't have to choose a template. The font I will be using Avenir. I began by editing the "My Gallery" section on top, then I wrote a short description on it as well.  Moving on, I moved on to the projects. I deleted most projects that the website has, and included my project, which is Grief & Loss Script, a 10-15 page long script on the theme of grief and loss. In it, I also included pictures of my script and my Milanote. In the future, I will be updating this project section with my progress on the script. After finishing the "My Gallery" desktop page, I moved to edit the mobile version. I changed the title to 24px and the description to 14px. I also tried to change the size of the project since it's too small, but after trying it, the size can't be altered.  With that, I had finished my Gallery page. Check

Reflection: Moments of Sorrow

I gained an interest in theme of grief and loss through films and through my own concerns. I feel that the theme itself is very heavy, and is a challenge to write because of its complexity. However, I wrote this story for more personal reasons. I often thought about whether or not I will be ready when people I loved died, and how I will be able to move on from those moments of sorrow. As such, I feel that this is personally a way of preparing myself to face that fear. Along with this, I wrote this story because I want to not only understand the nature of grief and how it affects people, but of how we can move forward from an unforgettable loss of a loved one. As an aspiring filmmaker, I am very much eager to learn about all aspects of filmmaking, especially writing which I view to be the most important aspect of films as its often the core of the story and film itself.
